Ciaren
Under evaluation — nothing announced yet

Ciarenfor teams that can't send data anywhere

The open-source core is local-first by design and free forever. We're evaluating an Enterprise edition for organizations that need the same pipelines behind SSO, RBAC, and air-gapped walls — and your input decides whether and how it gets built.

What Enterprise would add

Everything in open source, plus the controls large teams need

The core stays open source (AGPL-3.0) and fully usable on its own. Enterprise would layer organizational controls on top — never lock core features behind a paywall.

Air-gapped environments

Ciaren already runs fully offline on a single machine. Enterprise would extend that to fleet-wide offline installs, license management without call-home, and plugin distribution inside disconnected networks.

Single sign-on (SSO)

SAML and OIDC login in front of shared Ciaren deployments. The core platform already defines an auth provider extension point — SSO would build on it, not fork it.

Role-based access control (RBAC)

Roles and permissions over projects, flows, connections, and secrets — so analysts, engineers, and reviewers each get exactly the access they need.

Private plugin registry

Distribute internal nodes, connectors, and templates through a private, signed registry. Plugin signing (Ed25519) and license tokens already exist in the open-source core.

Audit & governance

Auditable history of who ran what, when, and with which data connections — building on the run history the core already records.

Enterprise support

Support agreements, upgrade guidance, and prioritized fixes for teams that need someone accountable on the other end.

Enterprise roadmap

Where each capability stands

Honest status, not a launch plan. Several building blocks — plugin signing, license tokens, offline execution, the auth extension point — already exist in the open-source core.

Designing

Private plugin registry

Signed packages and license tokens are shipped in the core today; a private registry service is the natural next layer.

Designing

Air-gapped install & licensing

Offline license verification with a grace period already exists for plugins; extending it to full deployments is being explored.

Exploring

SSO (SAML / OIDC)

Built on the core's auth provider extension point.

Exploring

RBAC & team workspaces

Permissions over projects, flows, connections, and secrets for shared deployments.

Exploring

Audit logging

Immutable, exportable audit trails across runs, schedules, and configuration changes.

Exploring

Enterprise support plans

SLAs, upgrade assistance, and a direct line to the maintainers.

A note on honesty

Whether Ciaren ships a commercial Enterprise edition is still under review. Joining early access is not a purchase, a commitment, or a waiting list for a finished product — it tells us what real teams need and gets you a direct line to the maintainers while it's decided. The open-source core is not affected either way.
